Welcome to the Club (this time in video)

As you probably know by now, Hogares Club Michin is the orphanage that our kids came from. It is located in central Bogota. It’s a series of several houses, each one for a different age of children. The facilities aren’t great, but the staff is very kind and works hard. We’ve recorded these short videos to help Danny, Ezzy, Nikky, and Wompy always have these special memories of these people who loved them. We also took many pictures of Club Michin.

The social worker and children’s psychologist (Wynette & Jairo) did a lot to prepare the children for their adoption. We will always be grateful for their dedication. If you are considering adoption from Colombia, contact us and we can put you in touch with the orphanage. Not all children are legally available, but they try hard to find families for the ones that are.

Wow, Rachel! It’s very obvious you are a busy mom now. You’re doing your posting in the middle of the night!

I have such mixed emotions as I watch these videos. My heart hurts when I look at all these beautiful children who have no homes or moms or dads, and yet I am so grateful for the wonderful people who give so much of themselves to make the lives of these children as pleasant as possible.

We really enjoyed meeting the children and watching you and Adam interact with them. The gift of tongues is definitely in play at your house! You’re doing a great job with them. It’s obvious that they love you both so very much and are truly happy. You and Adam are glowing — even when you’re completely exhausted.

Thank you so much for sharing this part of your lives. Many are benefiting from it.

Wow! That is about all I can think. How emotional and amazing! I can’t imagine how different life must seem to them. That will be an amazing thing for them to see as they grow and the memories become more faint.

    You guys are so awesome!

    You look great btw!
